In a land where elves and ice giants have long competed for food and resources, a brave young elf is the only one in her community who envisions a solution that doesn’t bring war upon two peoples.

The young elf Edda is the daughter of a seer and a bard—and she’s inherited both of her parents’ gifts. When her starving community decides the only way to avoid destruction is by starting a war with their ancient enemies the ice giants, she is the only one who sees another way–and she will need all her gifts of both poetry and prophecy to bring it to life.

Told in the style of an Old Norse ballad, Skáldsspá is a coming-of-age novel in verse about an elven girl on the cusp of womanhood determined to save her people from an unending cycle of war—and prove that the voice of one is capable of shaping Fate.
