Christopher Jones is a consulting scholar in the American Section of the Penn Museum. He has worked for the Tikal Project for many years and has published Deciphering Maya Hieroglyphs (1984) and Tikal Report 16, Excavations in the East Plaza of Tikal (1996). Linton Satterthwaite, Jr. (1897-1978) was a Maya archaeologist and epigrapher. He was Curator of the American Section (1955-1969) at the University of Pennsylvania Museum and directed excavations at several Maya sites, notably Piedras Negras, Guatemala, and Belize, Honduras. He served as epigrapher for the Tikal Project.
