A power vacuum provokes a magical battle—but in the face of cataclysm, long-sought answers to troubling questions may finally become clear.

Caster and New Dark Lord Silenos Shaiagrazni has vanished, and chaos reigns in his absence. Coalitions collapse into infighting and paranoia, the ambitious seek to exert influence wherever they can, and tyrants see opportunity in the crisis.

As the ancient Archimage Mafari embarks on a merciless campaign of vengeance against Silenos’s former allies, the New Dark Lord remains trapped in a mind-twisting alternate dimension. Only by transforming into a radically different and breathtakingly powerful being can Silenos hope to make an escape.

Meanwhile, a fateful clash becomes inevitable as King Galukar and Lilia the vampire queen turn against each other and Mafari acquires a band of acolytes to do his bidding. In his pursuit of conquest, the archimage has succeeded in dividing the continent, but it remains to be seen who will ultimately survive and prevail.

The third volume of the hit progression-fantasy series—with more than 500,000 views on Royal Road—now available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook!
