This volume presents new editions of the two earliest systematic discussions of the probative value of the consensus of the ahl al-bayt among the Zaydis on the basis of two witnesses, MS Milan, Ambrosiana, Ar. F 29 and MS Ṣanʿāʾ, Maktabat al-Awqāf 1090. These texts were written by Abū Ṭālib Yaḥyā b. al-Ḥusayn b. Hārūn al-Butḥānī (the later Imām al-Nāṭiq bi-l-Ḥaqq, d. 424/1033) and his contemporary, Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥusayn b. Ismāʿīl al-Ḥasanī al-Jurjānī (the later Imām al-Muwaffaq bi-llāh, d. ca. 430/1038).
