Written from an enthusiast’s hands-on experience, this guide helps owners understand the process, avoid common mistakes, and make sense of the details that standard manuals can leave unclear.
Chris Rooke was born in Oxford and developed a passion for motorcycles from an early age, growing up in a family devoted to all things mechanical. He owned his first bike, a Raleigh Runabout, at the age of 11, and by 16 had realised his dream of becoming a biker on a Casals moped.
Over the years, Chris has owned and restored a wide range of classic motorcycles, including a BSA Starfire, Triumph T100, Matchless G3LS, Bonneville T140V, Kawasaki Z1, Norton Commando and, finally, the Triumph Trident he had admired since his teens. His restoration experience has led to the publication of three Enthusiast's Restoration Guides and an Essential Buyer's Guide.
