With Underserved Populations at Historically Black Colleges and Universities: The Pathway to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Davis, Hilton and Outten have assembled a powerful group of authors who systematically address key challenges faced at HBCUs – their failure to adequately meet the needs of LGBTQ students and faculty, first generation college students, seekers of cultural knowledge, religious minorities, white faculty, white students and others. Having eloquently posed these important shortcomings of these institutions, the editors and authors do an impressive job of considering critically important implications for policy within these institutions and challenging researchers to further explore these hypocrisies.
