This volume presents a range of disciplinary, (trans)regional and epistemic perspectives, emerging from the work of the Berlin-based co2libri network initiative. Through interdisciplinary and transregional engagement, co2libri envisages a multi-centric perspective that integrates neglected positions of Southern theory and praxis into academia. Co2libri’s collaborative endeavor builds on long-standing exchange with partners in Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Using formats that facilitate open-ended discussion, authors are re-thinking theory and method, academic practice, and research ethics, while keeping inequalities in view. They work on/with innovative collaborative formats, following the principle of dialogue among equals, involving scholars and activists from divergent positionalities along the Global North-South divide. The goal is to produce more adequate and more sensitive critical knowledge, to present fresh takes on approaches, methods, and ethical standards. Alternative frames of reference and theorizations of lived experiences are presented, reflecting multi-layered, multi-disciplinary and transregional understandings of lifeworlds, in order to contribute critical points to current relevant debates.
