Das Spektrum von ›Klang‹ in literarischen Texten ist weit gefasst. Darunter fällt die Beschreibung akustischer Phänomene wie natürlicher oder technisch erzeugter Geräusche, Musik, Lärm, der menschlichen Stimme, aber auch der Klang des Textes an sich, also seine rhetorische oder metrische Gestaltung und die Frage nach seinem medialen Status. In der literaturwissenschaftlichen Forschung spielen die akustischen Dimensionen von Texten zunehmend eine wichtige Rolle, wofür die kulturwissenschaftlich orientierten, interdisziplinär ausgerichteten sound studies den theoretisch-methodischen Rahmen bilden. Die Mediävistik hat diese neueren Forschungsansätze bereits in fruchtbarer Weise aufgegriffen; arthurische Texte wurden dabei aber bislang nur punktuell behandelt. Der vorliegende Band setzt an diesem Desiderat an und rückt Artusromane in den Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung. Anhand exemplarischer Fallstudien werden in den Beiträgen die vielfältigen Facetten der ›Klanglichkeit‹ des Artusromans untersucht. Dabei geht es um Klangphänomene im Text, aber auch um den Klang des Textes sowie die Verbindung dieser beiden Lautsphären; auch poetologische Aspekte, die mit der klanglichen Dimension des Artusromans zusammenhängen, werden berücksichtigt.

Das Ergebnis einer mehrjährigen interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit zwischen Zeit- und Rechtsgeschichte gibt Antworten auf die Frage, wie und wodurch sich trotz vielfältiger Rückschläge und politischer Belastungen der Richterschaft ein allmählicher Wandel der traditionellen Justiz vollzog.

Die Neubearbeitung 2025 der §§ 889-902 (Publizität des Grundbuchs, Grundbuchberichtigung, Widerspruch, Ersitzung) berücksichtigt die neueste Rechtsprechung, sachenrechtliche Literatur sowie die aktuellen Gesetzesänderungen. Dabei wurden insbesondere die Auswirkungen des Gesetzes zur Modernisierung des Personengesellschaftsrechts (MoPeG) und die Änderungen des Wohnungseigentumsmodernisierungsgesetz (WEMoG) lösungsorientiert eingearbeitet.

Die Neubearbeitung behandelt zu Art. 3 EGBGB das Verhältnis des EGBGB zum Kollisionsrecht der Europäischen Union und der Staatsverträge. Zu Art. 4 EGBGB werden neueste Entwicklungen zum Renvoi und zur Verweisung auf interlokal bzw. interpersonal gespaltene Rechtsordnungen behandelt. Im Anhang zu Art 4 EGBGB gibt die Länderübersicht einen aktualisierten Überblick über das internationale Personen-, Familien- und Erbrecht von mehr als 90 Staaten.

Seine Gestaltung des Stoffs ist weit weniger bekannt als das Stück seines Zeitgenossen und Konkurrenten, die realistische Entheroisierung von Personen, Situation und Atmosphäre und die Schaffung eines ganz neuen untragischen Tons sind aber nicht weniger interessant.

Der hier vorgelegte Band ist der erste deutsche Kommentar zu dem Stück seit Weckleins schmalem Kommentar aus dem Jahre 1906. What is a ‘title’ where multiple-text manuscripts (MTMs) are concerned? Titles most commonly denote the individual texts of an MTM – but what about those that indicate the text collection as a whole? Are such titles found in every manuscript? And do they unequivocally refer to the physical manuscript, to the text collection, or both? These and other questions are addressed in the present volume, which analyses the development and roles of titles in MTMs and the influence of those who produce and use these works. By way of an introduction, a conceptual essay first traces the limits of the term ‘title’ for MTMs, then elaborates on the term ‘label’ as a recently proposed alternative. For a broad view of the phenomena in question, a series of case studies illustrates practices of titling and labeling in Greek MTMs from the late Renaissance; selections of Chinese poetry from Dunhuang; legal documents from pre- and early imperial China; secret Shingon Buddhist teachings from medieval Japan; hagiographic MTMs from Ethiopia; small prayer books from the Islamic world; and Ottoman Turkish song-text collections.

Die Arbeit behandelt auf der Grundlage einer ausführlichen diachronen Korpusanalyse die formale und funktionale Entstehung und Entwicklung der französischen progressiven Verbalperiphrase être en train de + Infinitiv von ihrem ersten Auftreten im 15. Jahrhundert bis heute. Untersucht werden dabei insbesondere die Fragen nach der Entwicklung der verschiedenen Bedeutungen der Periphrase sowie nach den Veränderungen der Restriktionen, denen die Verbalperiphrase unterliegt. Aus diesen Daten ergeben sich Erkenntnisse, die in einem neuen Vorschlag zum Grammatikalisierungspfad der Verbalperiphrase münden.

Die Studie schließt durch eine detaillierte und umfangreiche Korpusanalyse eine Lücke in der Forschung zu dieser Konstruktion, die sich bis heute überwiegend auf kleine Datengrundlagen gestützt hat. Sie zeigt damit auch, wie die Verknüpfung aus Grammatikalisierungstheorie und ausführlicher Korpusarbeit gemeinsam dazu beitragen können, diachrone Entwicklungen sichtbar zu machen.

Die Geschichte des deutschen Linksterrorismus ist ohne die politische Instrumentalisierung der Menschen, die in dem Kampf zwischen den selbsternannten „Stadtguerilla"-Gruppen und dem Staat zu Tode kamen, nicht zu verstehen. Politiker, Medien und die radikale Linke stritten sich sowohl um die Opfer als auch um die toten Terroristen und fragten, wie ihr Vermächtnis zu bewerten sei. Kevin Lenk untersucht diese Deutungskämpfe und zeichnet nach, wie die Toten zu Helden, Märtyrern oder Feindbildern gemacht wurden. Dabei wird ersichtlich: Die Konfrontation zwischen den Terroristen und dem Staat deeskalierte, wenn es Akteuren nicht gelang, einem Tod einen eindeutigen Sinn zuzuschreiben, und sich folglich keine politische Gemeinschaft daraus entwickelte. Andererseits erschweren die Darstellungsweisen von Terrorismusopfern, die damals geprägt wurden, noch heute den Umgang mit politischer Gewalt und ihren Betroffenen in der Bundesrepublik.

Das 21. Jahrhundert muss als ein Zeitalter des Spiels verstanden werden. Dies zum einen, da die Kulturtechnik des Spiels alle anderen Medientechniken inkludiert, zum anderen, da das Avancieren der Computerspiele zum neuen Leitmedium und die Ausweitung des Spiels in die militärische und politische Sphäre als Zeichen einer globalen Radikalisierung des Spiels interpretiert werden kann. Das Spiel mit dem genetischen Code könnte darüber hinaus sogar dazu führen, dass der Mensch, verstanden als Homo Ludens, in naher Zukunft von der Weltbühne verschwindet.

Um den existentiellen Ernst des Spiels zu verstehen, ist es nicht mit einer Definition des Spiels getan. Vielmehr werden aus der Gegenüberstellung von Videospielklassikern mit theoretischen Texten von u.a. Freud und Wittgenstein Vorschläge entwickelt, wie man das Spiel in seinen mannigfaltigen und oft maskierten Erscheinungsformen identifizieren kann. Schrift und Sprache werden so in ihrer welterschließenden Funktion als spielförmig erkennbar, zugleich werden Termini wie Ludum mundi, Ludisches A priori, Ludic (Re-) Turn und Ludische Probabilistik als Instrumente der Analyse eingeführt, die in eine Definition des Spielakts münden.

This two-volume work contains a selection of papers first presented at the 22nd International Colloquium on Latin Linguistics, held in Prague (2023). The papers address important issues in Latin linguistics with a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches.

The first volume ("Word") contains texts concerning Latin phonology, etymology, flexion and derivation, and lexical semantics, both with respect to individual words and to entire word classes. Both diachronic and synchronic perspectives are employed in the discussion of the various issues.

The second volume ("Clause and Discourse") includes papers dealing with issues of syntax and semantics, and with the structure of texts and pragmatic aspects. One of the subchapters, entitled "Conversation and Dialogue", contains papers presented at the conference in a separate workshop of the same name, linked by a common methodological framework of "Conversation Analysis".

Das Reichsgeschehen der Jahre 1499 bis 1504 liegt im Spannungsfeld zwischen der Reichsreformbewegung und Konflikten wie dem Schweizerkrieg oder der französischen Eroberung Mailands. Mit den Beschlüssen zur Errichtung eines Reichsregiments und eines Reichskammergerichts steht der Augsburger Reichstag von 1500 im Zentrum eines weitreichenden Handlungsgeflechts, zu dem auch viele weitere reichsständische Versammlungen der folgenden Jahre gehören.

The book analyses how racial knowledge has circulated in transnational entanglements, particularly between Germany and India, into the research on human variation in India, racializing the understanding of caste and ethnicity. It focuses on the legacy of Irawati Karve (1905-1970), a Indian anthropologist trained at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Anthropology, Eugenics, and Human Heredity in Berlin, Germany (1927-1930) and a prominent scientist in post-colonial India. Besides a historical analysis of Karve’s adaptation of racial approaches to the study of Indian castes, the book applies material-semiotic and ethnographic lenses to examine how her work is taken up today in anthropology and population genetics. By showing how transnational and transcolonial entanglements in race science shape knowledge on human diversity in India, the book offers novel insights to discussions in anthropology, STS, and global history, including the racialization of difference, colonial legacies, and post-colonial sovereignty in science. It contributes to a better understanding of the co-constitution of politics and sciences of human diversity and it argues for a closer attention to inequalities as a way to de-link from the legacies of scientific racism.

Die Geschichte der Gruppierung beginnt 1969 mit dem wilden Leben in den Kommunen Westberlins, macht einen Zwischenstopp in südjemenitischen Guerillatrainingscamps und endet 1980 in Paris mit dem Zusammenschluss mit der RAF. Die Mitglieder überschritten also nicht nur geographische Grenzen, sondern auch Grenzen der Gewalt: vom Steinwurf zur Flugzeugentführung.

In seiner Analyse zeichnet Max Gedig nicht nur ein detailliertes Bild der Geschehnisse, sondern auch der Mitglieder, ihrer politischen Ziele und des radikalen Milieus, aus dem sie sich rekrutierten. Max Gedig betrachtet die Gruppierung dabei sowohl aus einem historischen Blickwinkel als auch aus den Perspektiven der Gewalt-, Organisations- und Gemeinschaftssoziologie.

Der interdisziplinäre Ansatz ermöglicht eine besonders umfassende Analyse der Organisation. Diese trägt wesentlich zum Verständnis der radikalen Linken sowie der politischen Gewalt der deutschen Nachkriegsgeschichte bei.

Der vorliegende Band widmet sich den balneomusikalischen Kommunikations- und Interaktionsräumen der Frühen Neuzeit (1450–1750) und untersucht performative und reflexive Aspekte von Musik im Badekontext.

Dabei wird zunächst von der sozialen Praxis der Bade- und Kurmusik (heterologische Dimension) ausgegangen und ihr Einsatz zwischen angewandter Diätetik, künstlerischer Praxis, sozialer Kommunikation und Theorie reflektiert. Ergänzend dazu werden in einem weiteren Schritt die innermusikalische Eigenlogik (autologische Dimension) betrachtet und somit Formen, Gattungen und institutionelle Ausprägungen der Bade- und Kurmusik im dynamischen Zusammenspiel von curare und delectare, narratio und moralisatio präsentiert.

Durch die Analyse von Textquellen und Musikalien aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum zeigt sich ein neues interdisziplinäres Verständnis der Bade- und Kurmusik in ihrem funktionalen Vollzug sowie ästhetischen Potential.

This study examines the co-creative relationship between speakers, hearers, and God in poetry and prose by George Herbert and John Donne. Through analyses of communicative situations, communicative interactions, and reflections on communication, models of communication are established that underlie the texts selected. In particular, the activity of hearing is shown to be considered essential to the constitution of a meaningful utterance. In this way, a key function of communication becomes apparent: it can yield a range of creative products – from the conversation itself to a literary artefact and its extratextual effects.

This study thus offers a new reading of the texts of George Herbert and John Donne, and provides a clear perspective on how early modern religious texts regarded communication and co-creativity as connected concepts.

2024 ist der Aspekt "Collage/Montage" in Kempowskis Werk das schwerpunktmäßige Thema.

Trotz der Vielfältigkeit seines Gesamtwerkes (Romane, Befragungsbände, Hörspiele, eigene Tagebücher, ein "kollektives Tagebuch" etc.) gibt es in Walter Kempowskis Oeuvre ein zentrales Gestaltungsprinzip: das der Collage/Montage. Das Zusammentragen von Dokumenten und Artefakten verschiedenster Art sowie das Zusammensetzen von Textpartikeln unterschiedlicher Herkunft zu etwas Neuem waren für Kempowski essentielle künstlerische Methoden. Vom Inkorporieren einzelner (kürzerer) Fremdtexte und im Familien- bzw. Bekanntenkreis der Kempowskis überlieferten Episoden in den Romanen der Deutschen Chronik bis zum ausschließlich Fremdtexte umfassenden Echolot nutzte Kempowski die gesamte Bandbreite der Collage.

The experience of violence and verbal harassment was and still is an oppressive reality for Jews. This volume focusses on Jew-hatred and how it was encountered in the Second Temple period. It includes contributions on very different literature from the Hellenistic and Roman times from various proveniences: from Jewish literature in Greek language (e.g. Septuagint and Philo) to the works of Greek and Roman authors. Thus, prejudices, resentments and violence against Jews will be addressed and analyzed as well as how the Jewish community opposed it both pragmatically and intellectually. The historically oriented contributions are complemented by an essay in which past and present experiences are related to each other.

Recent studies have demonstrated that ancient Near Eastern societies considered themselves as part of one social fabric, divided not by mode of life or place of residence, but according to traditional associations of kin. Kinship relations appear to maintain their essential integrity over long periods of time, even within complex political organizations. In the past it was common to view state formation as an evolutionary process – from tribe to state – during which former kinship relations and tribal identities dissolve in face of the political identity imposed by the "state". Today, however, it seems that there were no evolutionary relations between the tribe and the state, as they both represent identities that coexist at the same time. It is against this background that a common structural element of ancient Levantine polities emerges: their fragmented nature, mostly based on an overarching concept of kinship.

This book presents studies of different polities and societies from the Bronze and Iron Ages Levant and beyond, highlighting their kin-based social and political structures, interactions, and ultimate formations, as may be gleaned from both material and textual sources.

Des valets et servantes de l'âge classique aux paysans et ouvriers au XIX^e siècle, et jusqu'aux jeunes issus des milieux défavorisés d'aujourd'hui, la littérature d'expression française n'a cessé de faire résonner les voix du peuple. Auf dem Höhepunkt der europäischen Hexenverfolgungen zwischen 1570 und 1630 entstehen v.a. in Frankreich und Deutschland zahlreiche dämonologische Traktate, die über die Macht des Teufels und das Wirken von Hexen und Zauberern reflektieren. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei immer wieder das Konzept dämonischer Täuschung: Der Teufel und seine Helfershelfer gewinnen Gewalt über die Menschen, indem sie deren Einbildungskraft täuschen und ihre Wahrnehmung durch ‚Gaukelwerk‘ (praestigiae) verblenden.

Der vorliegende Band widmet sich dem frühneuzeitlichen Konzept der illusio daemoniaca, indem er danach fragt, wie sich schon in den Hexentraktaten, aber auch in der zeitgenössischen europäischen Literatur dämonische Täuschung in ästhetische Illusion verwandeln kann. Analysiert werden dabei die Begriffs- und Konzeptgeschichte dämonischer Illusion (Semantik), ihre epistemischen Verbindungen zu anderen Wissensformationen (z.B. der zeitgenössischen Philosophie) sowie die ästhetische Performanz des Dämonischen sowohl in den Traktaten wie in narrativen Texten und auf der Bühne. Ziel des Bandes ist es, im Sinne des SFB 1391 Andere Ästhetik eine ‚andere‘ Genealogie der ästhetischen Konzepte Schein und Illusion zu rekonstruieren.

Oft wird Sprachgeschichte nur auf Basis der Zeugnisse jener Bevölkerungsgruppen geschrieben, die über politische und literarische Macht verfügen. Für das 17. Jahrhundert in Frankreich sind das die höfisch-literarischen Kreise, deren Schriften bis heute bekannt und infolgedessen leicht erschließbar sind. Da jene Kreise auch die Sprachpurismusdebatte austragen, entsprechen ihre Werke fast gänzlich der zeitgleich kodifizierten Sprachnorm.

Diese Studie berücksichtigt erstmals weitere, von anderen sozialen Gruppen produzierte und als konzeptionell mündlich einzuordnende Quellen: Sie untersucht die Sprache handschriftlicher, privater Briefe aus unterschiedlichen Archiven, die nie zuvor linguistisch erschlossen worden sind. Zusätzlich zieht sie Musterbriefe aus Briefstellern heran.

Fokussiert werden insbesondere die Merkmale, die in den sprachnormierenden Werken jener Epoche – in Grammatiken, Remarques usw. – Erwähnung finden. So wird ermittelt, inwieweit Sprachtheorie und Sprachpraxis übereinstimmen. Zudem wird der Einfluss außersprachlicher Faktoren, etwa des Bildungsgrades der Schreibenden, erörtert.

Die Studie leistet damit einen Beitrag für eine differenziertere Darstellung der sprachlichen Realität im Frankreich des 17. Jahrhunderts.

Medieval Art, Modern Politics is an innovative volume of twelve essays by international scholars, prefaced by a comprehensive introduction. It examines the political uses and misuses of medieval images, objects, and the built environment from the 16th to the 20th century. In case studies ranging from Russia to the US and from catacombs, mosques, cathedrals, and feudal castles to museums and textbooks, it demonstrates how the artistic and built legacy has been appropriated in post-medieval times to legitimize varied political agendas, whether royalist, imperial, fascist, or colonial. Entities as diverse as the Roman papacy, the Catholic Church, local arts organizations, private owners of medieval fortresses, or organizers of exhibitions and publishers are examined for the multiple ways they co-opt medieval works of art. Medieval Art, Modern Politics enlarges the history of revivalism and of medievalism by giving it a uniquely political twist, demonstrating the unavoidable (but often ignored) intersection of art history, knowledge, and power.

The patriarch Jacob functions as the main character in Jubilees, one of the most important early Jewish texts outside the Bible. This study investigates two important connections made by the author of Jubilees, Jacob and the Torah, and Jacob and the Abrahamic Promise (Gen 12:1–3 and parallels), both of which play an important role in Jubilees.

Jacob functions as the perfect Israelite who follows the Deuteronomic commandments (addressed to Israel in the second person singular) to the utmost, and thus exemplifies the "holy seed" or "rest" of Israel, who will also inherit the Abrahamic Promise when they fulfil the Torah as Jacob did. Esau functions as an archetype of the apostate Israelite who will be left outside of the Promise.

The study illuminates the early reception history of the Abrahamic Promise and its close connection with Deuteronomy. It gives background for scholars of early Judaism and Christianity dealing with the reception of the Law and the Promise as well as of the parting of Judaism and Christianity, where different readings of the patriarchal stories were influential (e.g., Sifre Deuteronomy).

Auf dem Augsburger Reichstag von 1518 stand für den bereits hinfälligen Kaiser Maximilian　I. die Wahl seines Enkels Karl zum römischen König im Mittelpunkt. Der scheinbare Erfolg seiner Verhandlungen mit den Kurfürsten erwies sich allerdings in der Folge als Illusion. Die päpstliche Hoffnung auf einen Türkenzug wurde ebenso enttäuscht wie die Erwartungen in eine Reform der Reichsgerichtsbarkeit und die Bekämpfung der verbreiteten Friedlosigkeit. Die Edition ermöglicht wichtige neue Erkenntnisse über das Reichssystem im beginnenden 16. Jahrhundert.

Während des Ersten Weltkriegs verhängte das Deutsche Reich in seinen besetzten Gebieten im Osten und im Westen den Passzwang und betrieb damit eine historisch neuartige Form der Fotopolitik.

Während im Reich selbst ein Ausweisdokument nur zur Ausreise benötigt wurde, mussten alle Menschen in den Besatzungsregionen – in Nordfrankreich, Belgien, Polen und dem sogenannten OberOst – einen deutschen Pass mit Lichtbild anfertigen lassen. Das Buch handelt von diesem vergangenen Kapitel in der Geschichte der deutschen Pässe und der Passfotografie. Unter Zwang entstanden ab 1915 Millionen von Porträtfotografien in einem speziellen Verfahren: Um Material, Aufwand und Kosten zu sparen, fotografierten deutsche "Passkommandos" die Menschen in Gruppen von fünf bis zehn Personen auf einem Bild, das anschließend in Einzelfotos auseinandergeschnitten wurde. Durch die Fotokamera sah der deutsche Staat jedem und jeder ins Gesicht und demonstrierte mit den Passfotos, deren Bildformat erst erfunden werden musste, seine Kontrollmacht.

Ausgehend von zwei widerständigen künstlerischen Positionen – Bilder von Józef Rapacki und Juozas Šilietis – zeichnet Britta Lange in ihrem Buch eine heute vergessene Geschichte der Passfotografie unter Zwang nach.

Rücksicht auf die empfindsamen Leserinnen und Leser des 18. Jahrhunderts mag bei der Zusammenstellung des sechsten Bandes von Wielands Shakespeare-Übersetzung eine Rolle gespielt haben, denn er bietet, nun in der historisch-kritischen Ausgabe, eine der im höchsten Maße furcht- und schreckenerregenden Tragödien, gerahmt von zwei affektbeschwichtigenden Komödien. Den Auftakt bildet das von Ariosts Orlando furioso, einem von Wielands Lieblingswerken, inspirierte und im Sizilianischen Messina angesiedelte intrigenreiche Lustspiel Viel Lermens um Nichts, worauf als zentrales Stück Das Trauerspiel, vom Macbeth mit den von Wieland teilweise in Versen gegebenen Hexenszenen folgt, während die letzte Stelle von der frühen, um die Themen Freundschaft und Untreue kreisenden Liebeskomödie Die zween edle Veroneser eingenommen wird.

Auch im bayerischen Justizministerium arbeiteten in der Nachkriegszeit viele Juristen, die schon in der NS-Justiz tätig gewesen waren. Aus einer kulturhistorischen Perspektive rekonstruiert Ana Lena Werner die Nachkriegsgeschichte dieser bayerischen Justizverwaltung. Sie analysiert dazu die Justizbilder, also die Selbst- und Fremdbilder der Justizelite, sowohl in öffentlichen als auch in internen Zusammenhängen. Um die Verwaltungspraxis der Nachkriegszeit mit Bezug zur Personalaktenführung und zur Entnazifizierung herauszuarbeiten, führt die Autorin den Begriff der bürokratischen Biografie ein. Dieser Fokus auf Justizbilder und Verwaltungspraxis zeigt, welche zeitgenössischen Vorstellungen über Juristenbiografien im Übergang zur Demokratie und deren Stabilisierung vorherrschend waren – und wie sie den Umgang mit der NS-Vergangenheit beeinflussten.

Mit ihrer Forschung liefert die Autorin neue Erkenntnisse zur Verwaltungskontinuität im 20.　Jahrhundert: Sie ordnet die Besonderheiten des „Wiederaufbaus" der Landesjustizverwaltung in Bayern und die vielbesprochene These eines „Versagens der Justiz" hinsichtlich des Umgangs der bayerischen Landesjustiz mit der NS-Vergangenheit neu ein.

Das Handbuch erschließt erstmals alle biographischen Phasen und sämtliche Facetten der Arbeit des gattungsübergreifend produktiven Schriftstellers, bildenden Künstlers und engagierten Zeitgenossen Günter Grass. Der jederzeit umstrittene Künstler und Zeitgenosse zählt unumstritten zu den wirkmächtigsten deutschsprachigen Schriftstellern des 20. Jahrhunderts und er wird, zumal im Ausland, immer wieder als der wichtigste Autor der Nachkriegsliteratur in Deutschland angesehen. Bestätigt wurde seine herausragende Position im Jahr 1999 mit der Verleihung des Nobelpreises an Grass. Das Lebenswerk des deutschsprachigen Autors mit kaschubischen Wurzeln, der aus einer der infolge des Zweiten Weltkriegs für immer verlorenen, ehemals deutschen Ost-Provinzen stammt, stellt eine Art Brennspiegel dar, mit dessen Hilfe sich Deutschlands Entwicklung von den Kriegs- und Nachkriegsjahren bis hinein ins 21. Jahrhundert verfolgen, vielleicht sogar besser begreifen lässt. Das eine breite Öffentlichkeit ansprechende Handbuch möchte einen aktuellen, klar gegliederten Zugang zu diesem Lebenswerk bieten, zugleich will es neue Perspektiven auf Werk, Autor und ihre Rezeption eröffnen und jedenfalls zur lebendigen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Autor und allzeit unbequemen Zeitgenossen Grass beitragen.

Die durch diesen Band wieder zugänglich gemachten Dramen „Der Schwur", „Konradin" und „Der Günstling" sind von Eindrücken und Anregungen inspiriert, die Klinger im Gefolge des russischen Großfürsten　Paul auf dessen 1781/82 unternommener Reise durch Europas Metropolen gesammelt hatte, und von seiner Kenntnis der Günstlingswirtschaft am　Hof Katharinas der Großen. Einen Schwur gegen die Ehe nimmt Klinger in seiner Komödie zum Anlass, Sitte und Moral der adligen Gesellschaft im damaligen Wien zu schildern, und mit der Tragödie „Konradin" leistet er einen Beitrag zum historischen Schauspiel, das sich zur Zeit der Entstehung des Dramas im Aufschwung befand. Selbst wenn in „Der　Günstling" die Andeutungen auf Geschehnisse im Umfeld der Zarin kaum zu übersehen sind, betont Klinger in einer Vorbemerkung den exemplarischen Charakter seines Stücks, dessen Schauplatz er deshalb und auch um bei Hof nicht Anstoß zu erregen, ins mittelalterliche Spanien verlegt. Alle drei Dramen sind 1786 und 1787 zuerst in der Sammlung „Theater" erschienen. 　

This edited volume qualitatively and quantitatively inquires into the vocabulary with which premodern texts seek to transport and shape their origins and the contexts of their composition. The volume’s focus lies on a historically and semantically broad range of sources, which includes texts for practical use. Studies focusing on methodology reflect on how approaches from the digital humanities can advance the study of aesthetic vocabulary.

Der beginnende Boom der Fertighausindustrie erfasste in den frühen 1960er-Jahren auch westdeutsche Stahlunternehmen wie Hoesch und Krupp. Ihr Einstieg in das Bauen für einen Endverbraucher:innenmarkt war der ökonomische Versuch einer neuen Produktdiversifikation und Absatzstrategie. Hierfür wurden Kooperationen beispielsweise mit der Chemischen Industrie aufgebaut, die ihrerseits neue Absatzmärkte suchte: mit Kunststoff beschichteter Stahl wurde von der Puderdose bis zum Fertighaus angeboten. Die sowohl in materialtechnischer, konstruktiver und kooperativer Hinsicht experimentelle Fertighausproduktion blieb weit hinter den Gewinnerwartungen zurück und wurde alsbald eingestellt – verweist jedoch auf Entwicklungen, die das Bauwesen bis heute prägen sollten. Verschiedene Erzählstränge entschlüsseln das komplexe Entstehen dieser teilweise noch erhaltenen Fertighausobjekte, die ihrerseits an der Schwelle zu Entwicklungen im Stahlleichtbau sowie dessen Erforschung und Vermittlung in der Lehre stehen.

Der vorliegende Band bietet zum ersten Mal in der germanistischen Fachgeschichte exklusiv eine umfassende Untersuchung der kulturellen Überlieferung des niederdeutschen Raums im Frühmittelalter. Das thematisch breite Spektrum des Bandes umfasst verschiedene Aspekte von Geschichte und Sprache bis zu Glossen und Textüberlieferung. Ein besonderer Akzent liegt auf den größeren Bibeldichtungen (Heliand und Genesis) sowie auf den kleineren Texten in altsächsischer Sprache. Der Band, der auf ein internationales Colloquium an der Otto-von-Guericke Universität Magdeburg zurückgeht, belegt damit nicht nur, dass es eine äußerst lebendige und interdisziplinäre Forschung in diesem Bereich gibt, sondern auch dass sich auf der Grundlage der hier vorgestellten Erkenntnisse in vielerlei Hinsicht neue Perspektiven für eine methodisch fundierte weitere Erforschung des gesamten Gegenstandsbereiches ergeben.
