100 Crochet Tiles features a wide range of crochet patterns and charts from a number of different, talented crochet designers. Choose from your favourite whether it's a multicoloured, middle eastern pattern or a geometric design in an understated colour way. 

Create stunning, colourful designs using crochet techniques including intarsia crochet, overlay crochet, mosaic crochet and tapestry crochet. All of the crochet stitches and techniques you will need to make the crochet patterns are included in the techniques section along with helpful step-by-step artworks and instructions. There are crochet charts for each of the tiles alongside the written crochet patterns.

These crochet tile patterns are the perfect stash buster and a great way to use up small amounts of leftover yarn. As well as the tile patterns there are eight project ideas for ways to use the crochet tiles. These include cushion and pillow covers, afghans and throws as well as rugs, wall hangings and table mats. You can choose your favourite designs and make beautiful crochet gifts for friends and family.

Decorative tiles have long been a source of inspiration for designers and artists due to their often intricate patterns and colours. This collection of knitting patterns and charts includes 100 designs inspired by decorative ceramic tiles from around the world.

Choose from brightly coloured colourwork designs to simple textured motifs that evoke everything from Victorian floor tiles to the intricate and brightly coloured designs of ancient temples and palaces.

Using a variety of different colourwork knitting techniques such as stranded knitting, mosaic knitting, and intarsia, as well as textured and lace knitting techniques and special stitches, a number of talented knitting designers have developed their own interpretations for you to create with yarn.

All of the tiles are made using Metropolis, a 4 ply yarn by Scheepjes but you can supplement it with any 4ply yarn that meets the gauge (tension) recommendations. These knitted tile patterns are the perfect stash buster projects as they only use small amounts of yarn and they're a great way to try out different knitting techniques on a small scale.

The tiles are constructed using a number of different knitting techniques including working in rows, modular knitting and centre out knitting so there are lots of different methods to try. All the knitting stitches and techniques you will need to make the motifs are included in the techniques section along with helpful step-by-step artworks and instructions.

In addition to the motif patterns there are instructions for five knitting projects to show how specific tiles can be used to make blankets, pillow cases, a needlecase and a knitted bag. Or why not mix and match your favourite designs to create your own blankets or throws? This unique collection of 100 exciting designs will continue to inspire and delight knitters of all abilities.

Now, drawing inspiration from Ovid, fifteen leading female and non-binary British playwrights dramatise the lives of these fifteen heroines in a series of new monologues for the twenty-first century.

15 Heroines was commissioned by Jermyn Street Theatre, London, and first performed – online and in three parts – in November 2020, presented in partnership with Digital Theatre. This edition of all fifteen monologues is introduced by directors – Adjoa Andoh, Tom Littler and Cat Robey – and writer, broadcaster and classicist Natalie Haynes.

The War tells the untold stories of the Trojan War: Oenone, Hermione, Laodamia, Briseis and Penelope, written by Lettie Precious, Sabrina Mahfouz, Charlotte Jones, Abi Zakarian and Hannah Khalil.

A collection of 30 beautiful designs for flower motifs inspired by decorative tiles from around the world. All of the patterns are written in US crochet terms with a handy table for the equivalent UK terms. These patterns have been previously published in 100 Crochet Tiles.

Most of the motifs are square and crocheted from the centre out – like a granny square - but there are also round, octagon and hexagon-shaped motifs, as well as an ogee-shaped motif, so plenty to choose from. Readers can try them all or choose their favourites and make multiple tiles to form a blanket or throw.

The flower tile designs include textured flowers, modern abstract designs and highly textured motifs with popcorn and puff stitches. A combination of different techniques are used including granny square crochet and tapestry crochet.

Each pattern features full written instructions as well as large crochet charts for easy stitching. There is also full guidance on all the necessary crochet techniques needed at the back of the book. These crochet tile patterns are the perfect stash buster and a great way to use up small amounts of leftover yarn.

The designers include some of the biggest names in crochet including Rachele Carmona (@cypresstextiles 117k on IG), Catherine Noronha (@catherinecrochets 32k on IG), and Hattie Risdale (@petalshed 79k on IG).

When bereaved mother Mary finds a disembodied arm, a conspiracy builds: maybe her child isn’t quite so dead after all. Shortlisted for Soho Theatre’s Tony Craze Award, Sami Ibrahim’s Wind Bit Bitter, Bit Bit Bit Her is an enthralling monologue about love and loss.

The Strongbox by Stephanie Jacob is a story of domestic servitude and abuse of power, as authoritarian Kat, her ageing mother, Ma, and their teenaged slave, Maudie, jostle for power – and affection – in their dilapidated London home.

3 Billion Seconds by Maud Dromgoole is a hilarious, macabre love story about a pregnant couple of activists attempting to offset the carbon footprint of their unborn baby's life.

Alcatraz by Nathan Lucky Wood is a thrilling play about family and social care that follows Sandy on her daring, Christmas mission to emulate Clint Eastwood and bust her gran out of lock-up.

Collapsible by Margaret Perry is a funny, furious monologue about navigating a world that cares so much about you keeping it together, it doesn't notice you falling apart.

Inside Voices by Nabilah Said blends dark comedy and magic realism in its subversive portrayal of three Singaporean Muslim women challenging the bounds of freedom, feminism and faith in a place that isn't home.

Open by Christopher Adams and Timothy Allsop is a frank, refreshing romance that draws on interviews, conversation and private correspondence to explore the authors' real-life open marriage.

Jericho by Malaprop Theatre is an off-kilter, high-energy, form-pushing play about what pro-wrestling and politics have in common. It asks big questions in weird ways, like what can a pop-culture journalist do to stop the world burning down?

Thrown by Jodi Gray sees a child-psychologist attempting to record what she's spent her whole life trying to forget, as the memories of former patients collide with her own.

Heroes by Isabel Dixon is a poignant exploration of fallen idols, family secrets and the human price of forgiveness. Set across two timelines, it is the tense and sensitive story of a family torn apart by an unforgiveable act.

Scotland's ballads represent one of the high-water marks of Scottish literature and are famous as superb expressions of oral culture, reflecting a world of magic, deep passion and history transformed into legend.

This selection includes more than eighty of the finest ballads, together with an introduction, notes and glosses. The versions come from the last three centuries-from the time of Burns and Scott, who were among the earliest collectors, up to the present day.

Although the ballads are anonymous in a way, the singers themselves determine the versions we have, by a process of selection, interpretation and refashioning. Wherever possible, this edition includes the names of the singers, many of whom were women.

An internationally recognised ballad scholar, Emily Lyle is a research fellow at the School of Scottish Studies in the University of Edinburgh, and is general editor of The Grieg-Duncan Folk song Collection.

The Motherhood Project draws together dramatic monologues and real-life reflections by some of the UK's leading writers, artists and thinkers, and explores all the guilt, joy and absurdity, the regrets, pressures and taboos surrounding motherhood.
